Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet MEREV (Head of Laboratory)
He graduated from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Istanbul University the B.Sc. and M.Sc. in 1995 and 1999, respectively. And also he has received his Ph.D. degree from Istanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, Electrical Engineer Program in 2005. Between 1996 and 2002 he worked as a research assistant at the Istanbul University, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. From 2002 he is working as a Chief Researcher and the Head of the High Voltage Calibration and Testing Laboratory in TÜBİTAK UME. He is responsible for the construction and the sustainability of primary and secondary high voltage measurement systems. And additionally, he is involved in the calibration of high voltage measurement systems and test services of the electromechanical industry. He has several tasks in the institute such as an instructor about high voltage measurement technologies and as a representative in the Quality Management Unit.
Ahmet MEREV is a Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board in CIGRE Turkish National Committee from 2015. In the standardization field, he is the Turkish delegate of the technical committee of high voltage and high current test techniques in IEC (The International Electrotechnical Commission) and the Chairman of the Mirror Committee of High Voltage and High Current Test Techniques operating under TSE (the Turkish Standardization Institute).
Since 2010, Ahmet MEREV has also been working as the Lead Assessor and Technical Expert in the field of electrical testing and calibration according to IEC 17025 for TURKAK (Turkish Accreditation Agency) and since 2015, he has been the coordinator of MET-513 Electrical Measurements Principles and Devices-1 course in the Metrology (English) program of Physics Department of Gebze Technical University Institute of Science.
Serkan Dedeoğlu has received his B.Sc. degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Yıldız Technical University in 2003 and his M.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kocaeli University in 2011. He worked at EKA Elektronik A.Ş. as a project engineer in 2004. From 2004, he has been working as a senior researcher in TUBITAK UME High Voltage Laboratory. He is responsible for high voltage measurement systems calibration and test services which are needed by industrial manufacturers. He has also been working on the construction of primary and secondary level high voltage measurement systems and has taken part in various international and national high voltage measurement comparisons. Since 2015 Serkan DEDEOĞLU is also working as an assessor in the field of electrical testing and calibration about laboratory accreditation according to IEC 17025 for TURKAK (Turkish Accreditation Agency).
Volkan Ayva graduated from the Karamursel Vocational College’s Industrial Electronics Department of Kocaeli University in 2007. He started his career as a technician at the EMC Electronic, Testing and R&D Laboratory in 2007. During his experience in EMC Electronic, Testing and R&D Laboratory, he designed filter circuits for EMC test setups and he performed EMC tests of various industrial products. At the same time he was responsible for implementation of the laboratory quality system according to the IEC/ISO17025 standard. He has been working as a senior technician in the TÜBİTAK UME High Voltage Laboratory since 2012. Volkan AYVA has been participating in high voltage metrology projects actively.
