Mass and Solid Volume/Density Laboratory
About Us
The main purpose of the Mass and Solid Volume/Density Laboratory is to secure the mass and solid volume and density measurements made in our country, to ensure the integration of these measurements into the international system, and to develop new measurement techniques compatible with developing technologies.
Our laboratory carries out calibration, testing, consultancy, training and technology transfer services and R&D activities in the field of mass metrology.
Fields of Activity

- Representation of the country at Regional Metrology Organizations Mass Technical Committee Meetings
- Research and development in the field of mass metrology
- Digitalization efforts in mass metrology
- Preservation of the "National Kilogram Prototype" and realization of the mass scale
- True mass and conventional mass calibration of mass standards (or samples) ranging from 1 mg to 1000 kg
- Density and volume calibration of mass standards from 1 g to 50 kg
- Calibration service of non-automatic weighing devices within TÜBİTAK UME
- Calibration service of non-automatic weighing devices within TÜBİTAK UME
- Pilot/participant/link provider/advisory group member in national and international benchmarks
- Technology transfer, training and consultancy services in mass metrology to developing institutes
