A service contract was signed between TÜBİTAK UME and Uzbekistan National Institute of Metrology (UzNIM) for the development of time frequency measurement systems.

The contract covers the supply and development of time frequency systems, system installation, training of Uzbekistan Metrology Institute employees at TÜBİTAK UME and on-site, and organization of bilateral comparisons.

According to the agreement, Uzbekistan National Time Scale (UTC(Uz)) will be created with the technical infrastructure of TÜBİTAK UME and its traceability will be ensured through BIPM. The time difference between the scales of Turkey and Uzbekistan will also be compared with the GNSS Common Sight Method.

The infrastructure of the laboratory to be established by TÜBİTAK UME for Uzbekistan to generate frequencies up to 20 GHz and measure frequencies up to 15 GHz will be completed. The traceable UTC(Uz) time scale will be distributed within the country via the internet. In addition, the necessary support will be provided within the scope of time and frequency activities for the creation of CMC data and its publication on the BIPM website.

The agreement, which will give a new impetus to bilateral relations between the two metrology institutes, will also be a milestone in terms of increasing the scientific and technical development of the Metrology Institute of Uzbekistan and its integration into the international metrology system.
