High Voltage Laboratory
About Us
The main purpose of TÜBİTAK UME High Voltage Laboratory is to ensure and improve the traceability of measurement quantities in the field of high voltage metrology, to integrate them into the international metrology system through international comparisons, and to establish measurement unity by providing traceability to lower level calibration and test laboratories established within or outside the country with the calibration, measurement and test services provided. In addition to calibration services, the High Voltage Laboratory performs high voltage tests of electromechanical products in accordance with national and international standards. In addition, another aim of the laboratory is to produce research projects in the fields of laboratory activities in line with the needs of the country and the demands of its stakeholders. In this context, the laboratory also acts as a project partner in European Metrology Research Program research projects. In addition to ensuring the measurement traceability and reliability of the devices used in the field of high voltage, the High Voltage Laboratory also designs and manufactures reference measurement devices for electromechanical industry manufacturers. The calibration and test services performed in the laboratory are assured by compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standard and accredited by TÜRKAK. It also organizes trainings for institutions and organizations working on high voltage tests and calibrations.
In UME High Voltage Laboratory; R&D studies are also carried out on the design and construction of AC, DC, lightning and switching pulse high voltage measurement systems, lightning and switching pulse high voltage calibrator and recorder design and construction, partial discharge (PD) calibrator design and construction.
