Quality Policy
As Türkiye’s National Metrology Institute, TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME), fully aware of its responsibilities at national and international levels, conducts scientific research, follows technological developments, and contributes to strengthening the national quality infrastructure. In this context UME:
- Continuously improves its services and creates added value by considering the current and future needs and expectations of its customers and stakeholders,
- International/national standards related to our services, in particular all legal requirements (TS EN ISO/IEC 17025, TS EN ISO 17034, TS EN ISO 9001, TS EN 9100, AQAP-2110, EN ISO/IEC 17043, OIC/SMIIC 36 etc.) that fully meets customer requirements and whose effectiveness is continuously improved to continue our activities with the quality management system,
- Ensures the highest level of satisfaction by addressing stakeholder expectations and requests in a timely, accurate, and complete manner in line with a customer-focused approach and effective communication principles, in line with, the highest level of satisfaction by meeting on time, accurately and completely to provide,
- Fully comply with environmental legislation and other relevant requirements by considering the environmental impact of our activities adapt, manage climate change risks, use natural resources efficiently and continuously improve environmental sustainability,
- Fulfills all contractual obligations in all services and projects undertaken,
- In accordance with the principles of information security, data integrity and confidentiality, customer and stakeholder information to ensure its protection,
- Increasing staff competence, awareness and participation through continuous training and development approach to continuously improve institutional know-how,
- We carry out our activities with personnel who are continuously developed and aware of their responsibilities. according to the quality management system,
- Considering the satisfaction of our staff, which is the main element of our success to move towards corporate goals together with a participatory management approach,
- Adheres to the principles of transparency, confidentiality, and impartiality.

Safety Policy
As Türkiye’s National Metrology Institute, TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME) adopts the principle of ensuring the highest level of product, operational, and flight safety at all stages of its activities and acts with the awareness that safety is an integral part of its corporate culture. In this context, UME:
- Plans, implements, and effectively controls all necessary processes to prevent the use of counterfeit, unapproved, and suspected parts in its products and services,
- Proactively identifies and assesses all safety-related hazards and risks based on a risk-based thinking approach and implements permanent and sustainable measures to prevent their occurrence,
- Regularly monitors, evaluates, and continuously improves its safety performance through a management system that ensures the effective implementation of safety measures,
- Plans and carries out the necessary control and verification activities to ensure that products meet safety requirements throughout their entire life cycle, including design, development, use, maintenance, repair, and overhaul,
- Systematically evaluates factors such as physical fitness, workload, stress, fatigue, and other human factors affecting safety, and implements measures to reduce related risks,
- Ensures that all employees act with the awareness that safety is a shared responsibility, understand the impact of their activities on safety, enhance their safety awareness and competence, and are assigned in line with their qualifications,
- Establishes a safe reporting environment, encourages the reporting of safety-related nonconformities, and ensures that no punitive action is taken against employees for such reports,
- Ensures that externally provided processes, products, and services comply with its safety performance requirements,
- Provides all necessary resources for the effective implementation of this Safety Policy and ensures that it is adopted by all employees.
