High Voltage Laboratory

The main objective of UME High Voltage Laboratory is to establish the traceability of measurement quantities relevant to high voltage, to integrate the measurement quantities into the international metrology system through international comparisons and to ensure measurement unity by disseminating traceability to lower level calibration and test laboratories within the country or abroad through calibration, measurement and test services. In addition to calibration service, high voltage laboratory performs high voltage tests according to national and international standards to electromechanical products. The other objective of the laboratory activities is to produce research projects in line with national priorities and the stakeholder demands. In this context, the laboratory has participated as a partner in research projects conducted within the European Metrology Research Programme. The High Voltage Laboratory carries out the design and construction of reference measurement devices for electromechanical industry manufacturers, as well as studies to ensure the measurement traceability and reliability of the devices used in the high voltage measurements. The calibration and testing services in the laboratory are assurance in accordance with ISO / IEC 17025 standard and have been accredited by TÜRKAK. The High Voltage Laboratory also organizes trainings for institutions and organizations working on high voltage calibrations and tests.

R&D studies are also carried out by UME High Voltage Laboratory about AC High Voltage Measurement System Design and Construction, DC High Voltage Measurement System Design and Construction, Lightning and Switching Impulse High Voltage Measurement System Design and Construction, Lightning and Switching Impulse Calibrator Design and Construction, Lightning and Switching Impulse High Voltage Recording Device Design and Construction, Partial Discharge (PD) Calibrator Design and Construction.
