TÜBİTAK UME hosted this year's meetings of EURAMET -WELMEC Focus Group for the Development of National Metrology Infrastructures (FG-FNMID) and EURAMET Technical Committee for Interdisciplinary Metrology (TC-IM).
Founded in 2008 within the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET), the 6th FG-FNMID, whose main purpose is to strategize and organize activities in cooperation for the work of newly established or developing national metrology institutes in Europe, was hosted by TÜBİTAK UME on 4-5 November.
The 16th Meeting of TC-IM, where issues related to general metrology outside the designated technical metrology areas were evaluated, was held on November 7-8, again hosted by TÜBİTAK UME. During the meeting, activities to increase the efficiency of CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA) activities and to carry them out in a sustainable manner, preparation of online metrology training programs and preparations for the European Metrology Research and Innovation Program (EMPIR), which is expected to start in 2014, were discussed. At the end of the meeting, the participants were shown around the laboratories of TÜBİTAK UME and informed about the activities carried out.
In addition to TÜBİTAK UME, representatives of the National Metrology Institutes of Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Croatia, Ireland, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia attended the meetings.
