Another Reference Device from TÜBİTAK UME

The "Harmonic Current Source" developed within the scope of the EMRP project titled "Improved EMC tests for industrial environments" (IND60 EMC), of which TÜBİTAK UME is the main executor, will be introduced at the EURAMET stand at the 18th International Congress of Metrology (CIM 2017, Paris) to be held in Paris between September 19-21, 2017.

The reference device, designed and manufactured by TÜBİTAK UME, was also measured in comparison tests among the laboratories of the project partner countries and received successful results. The patent process for the "Harmonic Current Source", which has many innovative features and will be used to generate and measure defined current harmonics, is also in progress.

Alternative test methods were being developed to perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, which is a requirement for all electronic products, as some products, especially those with large components, fall outside the existing guidelines. Moreover, little information was available on the performance analysis, characterization, validity and traceability of the results obtained from these techniques. Within the scope of the IND60 Project, which was initiated to eliminate this problem, new methods have been developed and reference devices have been produced to verify the tests.

Apart from the Harmonic Current Source, which is one of these reference devices, other innovative devices will be exhibited at the 18th International Metrology Congress, where TÜBİTAK UME will also take its place in the metrology world with a booth.
