A New Wind Tunnel Commissioned

A new wind tunnel was built at TÜBİTAK UME Fluid Laboratories to be used in air speed measurements.

Started in 2012, the system was put into service for speed tests and calibrations after the first tests of the tunnel showed that its speed stability was as expected.

The system, designed entirely by TÜBİTAK UME Fluid Laboratories personnel, was produced by a local company. Thanks to this tunnel, the laboratory can perform tests and calibrations of anemometers and speedometers in the air velocity range of 0.5 to 40 m/s with lower uncertainty.
