TÜBİTAK UME hosted the Eurasian Cooperation of National Metrology Institutes (COOMET) Quality Forum Technical Committee meeting between September 30-October 2, 2019.

Cooperation of Eurasian National Metrology Institutes (COOMET) Quality Forum Technical Committee meeting was hosted by TÜBİTAK UME between September 30-October 2, 2019.

The Quality Management Systems of 6 national metrology institutes were evaluated at the fall meeting of the Quality Forum Technical Committee in 2019, which was held with the participation of 32 experts from 11 countries including Germany, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine as well as Turkey.

The meeting also reviewed the strategy and work program of the committee for the coming years. After the meeting, the participants were informed about the infrastructure and measurement facilities of TÜBİTAK UME with a laboratory tour.

According to the Mutual Recognition Arrangement between the National Metrology Institutes, the quality management systems of the institutes are audited by the Quality Technical Committees of the regional metrology organizations. The audit is usually carried out by reviewing the written and oral presentation of the metrology institutes at the annual meetings of the committee.

TÜBİTAK UME, which has the potential to be a bridge between the two regional metrology organizations EURAMET and COOMET with its location, existing infrastructure and experienced experts, aims to increase its contacts and cooperation with the metrology institutes of other member countries, especially the metrology institutes in the Turkic Republics, even more effectively in the coming years.
