TÜBİTAK UME hosted the Cooperation of Eurasian National Metrology Institutes (COOMET) Acoustic, Ultrasonic and Vibration Technical Committee Meeting.

This year's meeting of the committee, of which TÜBİTAK UME is a member, was held at Istanbul Kalyon Hotel on September 17-18, 2018. In addition to Turkey, 21 experts from countries such as Ukraine, China, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus and Saudi Arabia attended the meeting.

At the meeting, which is held annually with the participation of experts from COOMET member countries; developments in the field of acoustic, ultrasonic and vibration measurements were discussed, ongoing and new key and support comparisons, projects and collaborations were evaluated.

At the meeting, participating countries shared information about acoustic, ultrasonic and vibration metrology activities in their countries with their presentations, and TÜBİTAK UME's Acoustic Laboratory and Medical Metrology Laboratory, which operate in related fields, were introduced.

After the meetings, the participants were informed about the infrastructure and measurement facilities of TÜBİTAK UME with a laboratory tour on September 18, 2018.

TÜBİTAK UME, which has the potential to be a bridge between the two regional metrology organizations EURAMET and COOMET with its location, existing infrastructure and experienced experts, aims to increase its contacts and cooperation with the metrology institutes of other member countries, especially the metrology institutes in the Turkic Republics, even more effectively in the coming years.
