TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME), T.R. Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology General Directorate of Metrology and Standardization and Bosnia and Herzegovina Metrology Institute (IMBIH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop scientific and legal metrological cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Necip CAMUŞCU, Director General of Metrology and Standardization of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Dr. Mustafa ÇETİNTAŞ, Director of TÜBİTAK UME and Prof. Dr. Necip CAMUŞCU, Director General of Metrology and Standardization of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Dr. Mustafa ÇETİNTAŞ, Director of TÜBİTAK UME and Zijad DŽEMIĆ, Director of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the "Memorandum of Understanding" during the visit to the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 9-10 October 2017.

With the signed agreement, a principle decision was taken to reinforce the international traceability of legal metrological activities initiated in Europe in the fields of agriculture and environment, especially medical devices and systems, by establishing them in our country. In addition, efforts to establish joint collaborations in EU projects, prioritizing these areas, were included in the action plan for the coming year.

Following the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding", an on-site laboratory inspection was carried out and mutual information was exchanged with IMBIH officials.

On the other hand, with this agreement, the number of Memorandums of Understanding signed by TÜBİTAK UME with equivalent organizations abroad has increased to 34.
