The Medical Metrology Laboratory, which was established as a result of the "Medical Metrology Feasibility Project" completed as a result of a long working process within TÜBİTAK UME, has actually started its activities.
The laboratory, whose main purpose is to ensure and improve the traceability of measurement quantities in the fields of medical metrology, will create measurement unity by providing traceability to lower level laboratories established within or outside the country with calibration, measurement and test services for integration into the international metrology system.
Aiming to produce research projects on relevant topics in line with the needs of the country and the demands of its stakeholders, the laboratory also acts as a project partner in European Metrology Research Program research projects.
In addition to ensuring the measurement traceability and reliability of devices used in the field of health, the Medical Metrology Laboratory will also provide services in the production of certified reference materials for autoanalyzers, and the design and production of calibrators for medical devices.
The laboratory, which will establish systems and produce projects for the application of ultrasonic techniques in the field of health, and carry out performance tests of hearing aids and headphones, will also organize special trainings for professionals working in medical device calibration.
With TÜBİTAK UME Medical Metrology Laboratory, both the quality of healthcare services received by citizens will be monitored and dependence on foreign countries in this field will be reduced.
