TÜBİTAK UME participated as a supporting organization in the 1st National Laboratory Accreditation and Safety Symposium and Exhibition organized by TMMOB Chamber of Chemical Engineers Istanbul Branch on 16-18 May at Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Campus.

Approximately 400 people from chemical, food, environmental laboratories and universities participated in the symposium, which was organized to fulfill the management and technical requirements of TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 Standard and to share information on laboratory safety issues based on feedback from laboratories and to discuss the problems experienced on a common platform. In the panels and forums, the questions of the participants about the relevant issues were answered by the experts.

TÜBİTAK UME Chemistry Laboratories experts Dr. Fatma AKÇADAĞ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilgün TOKMAN, Burcu BİNİCİ, Emrah UYSAL, Dr. F. Gonca ÇOŞKUN, Dr. T. Erinç ENGİN contributed to the symposium with their presentations, while Dr. Jale ŞAHİN, Merve ÖZTUĞ ŞENAL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müslüm AKGÖZ and Sema AKYÜREK contributed with their poster presentations. In addition, information about the activities and projects of TÜBİTAK UME and Chemistry Group Laboratories was given with the promotional stand opened in the exhibition part of the event.
