Capacity Building Workshop: Nanometrology for Emerging National Metrology Institutes
The workshop titled "Nanometrology for Emerging National Metrology Institutes" is organized by Assoc. Prof. Tanfer Yandayan, EURAMET TC-L Capacity Building Officer, within the scope of the European Metrology Network for Advanced Manufacturing.
You can get information about the workshop and ON LINE participation from the link below. The workshop language is English and participation is free of charge.
History: October 15, 2025 (14:00 - 17:30) CET (European Central Region Time)
Location: GUM, Kielce (Poland)
Objective
Nanotechnologies developed in recent years often involve the fabrication and use of measurement systems for the measurement of structures of a few nanometers in size. Traceability pathways for dimensional nanometrology are often complex and require significant expertise for implementation.
The necessary expertise and identified stakeholder needs for nanometrology are not always available in many national metrology institutes and designated institutes (NMI/DI). This leads to budgetary constraints for developing countries as well as scientific/technical challenges for setting up activities. Therefore, NMI/DIs need a broader knowledge base to develop or enhance their measurement capabilities in nanometrology. This workshop took into account the specific focus of countries on the needs of stakeholders, as highlighted in the capacity building activities of the European Metrology Network for Advanced Manufacturing.
The workshop aims to provide guidance and a better understanding to emerging (NMI/DI) or even accredited secondary laboratories for the development of nanometrology activities.
Who should participate:
Industrial, second level, accredited, university laboratories and national metrology institutes. Materials testing laboratories performing nano-scale measurements.
