The Training Project titled "Strengthening the Capacity of Metrology Laboratories and Improvement of Quality Infrastructure" of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) was carried out by TÜBİTAK UME experts under the coordination of the Standards and Metrology Institute of Islamic Countries (SMIIC).

A total of 12 experts from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and Sudan Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) participated in the training program, which started on 9-11 September 2025 in Kampala, Uganda.

The 2nd stage of the training program, which covers the fields of physics, mechanics and chemistry prepared by TÜBİTAK UME researchers, was held at TÜBİTAK UME on 1-2 October 2025.

Thanks to the program, participants had the opportunity to improve their technical knowledge and skills. The training program implemented under the leadership of TÜBİTAK UME will not only strengthen the metrology capacity of Uganda and Sudan, but will also contribute to facilitating trade and increasing consumer safety in these countries.
