In order to increase cooperation between TÜBİTAK UME and industry, on January 16, 2013, a group of researchers led by Dr. Fatih Üstüner, Director (V.) of our Institute, visited Istanbul Biotechnology and Mechatronics Cluster (Istanbul Biotechnology and Mechatronics Cluster).www.ibmk.org.tr) visited. During the visit, cluster coordinator Dr. Kadri Dönmez gave information about cluster activities. Dr. Erdal Ataç, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İslab Ltd. After giving information about the mission of UME, Dr. Fatih Üstüner, Director of our Institute, stated that the organizations in the cluster can see our institute as a solution partner in the problems they encounter in measurement.
Istanbul Biotechnology and Mechatronics Cluster was established in 2008 and is the first Biotechnology and Mechatronics Cluster in Turkey. The cluster works to increase cooperation between R&D companies, universities and public research institutions in order to produce advanced technology products in our country.
There are four clusters in the medical field in Turkey:
1-Istanbul Biotechnology and Mechatronics Cluster
2-Ankara OSTIM Medical Industry Cluster
3-Samsun Medical Industry Cluster
4-INOVIZ Izmir Health Cluster
The first priority of the Istanbul Biotechnology and Mechatronics Cluster is to produce advanced technology products in the field of in vitro diagnostic medical diagnostic devices using the key technologies of "Biotechnology" and "Mechatronics". For this goal, the Cluster works in cooperation with other medical clusters of our country.
