As one of the founding members of the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET), TÜBİTAK UME is actively involved in 10 EURAMET Technical Committees. The Time and Frequency EURAMET Technical Committee, one of these technical committees, is formed by the representatives of the Time and Frequency Laboratories of the National Metrology Institutes of the member European countries and carries out the activities of frequency standards, time scales, time and frequency comparisons, time distribution, measurement systems in time and frequency metrology and space applications. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramiz HAMİD, Head of TUBITAK UME Time Frequency and Wavelength Laboratories, was elected as the Chairman of the Time and Frequency EURAMET Technical Committee for the period 2013-2015.

With the Presidency of Time and Frequency EURAMET Technical Committee to be carried out by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramiz HAMİD, TÜBİTAK UME will represent European National Metrology Institutes in the World Metrology Platform in Time and Frequency measurement activities.

Previously, the Acoustics, Ultrasonics and Vibration Technical Committee was chaired by Dr. Enver SADIKOĞLU from TÜBİTAK UME for 2 consecutive terms between 2005-2009. Time and Frequency EURAMET Technical Committee Chairmanship is the second chairmanship of TÜBİTAK UME in EURAMET Technical Committees.
