TUBITAK National Metrology Institute (UME)'s membership to JCTLM (Joint Committee on Traceability in Clinical Laboratories) was accepted at a meeting held in December 2012.

TÜBİTAK UME Chemistry Group Laboratories' participation in the committees in the field of chemical metrology under the European Union of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) Technical Committee on Chemical Metrology (TC-MC) and the Consultative Committee on the Quantity of Substances (CCQM) since 2000, active participation in the European Metrology Research Program (EMRP) Projects, qualified studies and services in the field of chemical metrology were effective in its acceptance to the JCTLM membership.

TÜBİTAK UME aims to take an active role in the development of new reference methods, to accelerate the preparation of certified reference materials and the organization of proficiency tests, and to improve the measurement quality of our country's clinical laboratories by participating in the activities of the committee through its membership in JCTLM, which operates under the International Bureau of Measures and Weights (BIPM).
