TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Russian D.I. Mendeleyev Institute of Metrology (VNIIM) in order to develop cooperation.
Dr. Mustafa ÇETİNTAŞ, Director of TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute, and Dr. KIRILL V. GOGOLINSKIY, Director of D.I. Mendeleyev Metrology Institute, signed the "Memorandum of Understanding", which was registered during the international conference held in Saint Petersburg on 14-15 June 2017 on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the establishment of D.I. Mendeleyev Metrology Institute.
After the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding", VNIIM Laboratories were visited and mutual views were exchanged.
With the signed agreement between the two Institutes;
- Technical support and consultancy,
- Conducting joint research projects,
- Visiting researcher exchange,
- Supply of technical information, reference data, materials and publications,
- Requirements for participation in joint seminars, workshops and training courses were set.
As the first step of the metrological studies previously initiated between the two Institutes, the second phase of the measurements, which will enable the comparison of the national standards of both countries in the field of Vacuum Metrology in the pressure range of 1-10-4 Pa - 1 Pa and whose first phase was carried out at TÜBİTAK UME, is planned to be carried out at VNIIM in 2017.
The scientific collaborations that will take place within the framework of the relations formalized with the signed bilateral agreement are expected to continue not only in the field of Vacuum Metrology but also in other disciplines.
