The second phase of the turnkey installation of 12 laboratories, which started with the signing of Phase 1 between TÜBİTAK UME and Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI) in December 2023, was signed as Phase 2 on May 6, 2025 at AzMI. With this contract, it is aimed to strengthen the metrology infrastructure in Azerbaijan and further increase the measurement capabilities.
The projects are implemented within the framework of the Action Plan "Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2022-2026" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. With the new cooperation, 14 new metrology laboratories will be established and modernized in Azerbaijan. With the measures to be taken within this scope, it is aimed to further strengthen the country's quality infrastructure, increase the export potential and develop a competitive and sustainable economy.
With the realization of these projects, Azerbaijan will have a modern and strong metrology infrastructure and the quality infrastructure in industrial production will improve
