At the 8th Meeting of EURAMET (European Association of Metrology Institutes) TC-Q (Quality Technical Committee) held in Sarajevo hosted by the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBIH) on March 14-15, 2013, the Quality Management Systems of TÜBİTAK UME and Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK) were evaluated.
Dr. Enver SADIKOĞLU, Quality Management Representative of TÜBİTAK UME, made a presentation summarizing the developments and improvement activities of TÜBİTAK UME and TAEK's Quality Management Systems in the last 5 years. After the presentation, TC-Q members decided that the Quality Management Systems of UME and TAEK are functional and sustainable. It was shared at the TC-Q Meeting that the work to harmonize TÜBİTAK UME Quality Management System with the requirements of ISO Guide 34 document started in 2009 and was completed at the end of 2012. The committee members also approved the restructured quality management system according to the requirements of ISO GUIDE 34.
At the meeting, which also aimed to share information on exemplary practices related to quality management systems, presentations were made on two independent external audits (peer review) carried out as a EURAMET Project (Project Nos. 1231 and 1238) under the coordination of UME. With its functional and exemplary quality management system and active activities in external audits in the region, TÜBİTAK UME has become one of the most active members of EURAMET TC-Q.
TÜBİTAK UME's Quality Management System had also successfully passed the audits carried out in 2002 and 2008 by the Technical Committee on Quality (TC-Q) established by EURAMET and operating in the field of quality.
