Dr. Somchai Sangkitporn, Director of the National Institute of Health of Thailand and Bumroong Kongdee, Director of the Bureau of Cosmetics and Hazardous Substances visited TÜBİTAK UME on August 26.

During the visit, information was exchanged about the LC-MS/MS-based newborn screening kits and measurement system developed between 2005-2007 in cooperation with TÜBİTAK UME and Zivak Technology Company, and discussions were held on the use of systems such as the National Marker Mobile Reference Device (GUMREF) in newborn screening in order to obtain fast and on-site measurements.

TUBITAK UME Institute Director Technical Assistant Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ceyhan GÖREN made a presentation on TUBITAK UME Chemistry Group Laboratories, Metrology and Importance of Metrology in Biochemical Measurements to the Thai delegation. The delegation was also informed about the Medical Metrology studies carried out by TÜBİTAK UME.

In the meeting where the methods and certified reference materials needed for the accurate and reliable measurement of biochemical liquids, cosmetics and hazardous substances were evaluated, discussions were also held about TÜBİTAK UME's Certified Reference Materials and the proficiency tests it organizes.
