TÜBİTAK UME participated in the "Expo Turkey by Sudan" Fair organized for the first time on May 8-11, 2017.
The opening ceremony of the fair in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, was held by Fatih Metin, Deputy Minister of Economy, who came to the country for a series of meetings, and El-Sadiq Mohammed Ali, Sudanese Minister of Trade.
In addition to TÜBİTAK UME, many companies from Sudan and Turkey took part in the fair, where contacts were made for the establishment of new collaborations in the field of metrology in the region for four days.
At the fair organized to further strengthen the economic relations between Turkey and Sudan, TÜBİTAK UME informed local and foreign visitors about its metrology infrastructure and activities.
The stand of TÜBİTAK UME, which aims to be the leading institution in the metrology studies that are gradually developing in the region and plans to share its experiences with regional organizations in this direction, attracted great interest throughout the fair.
On the other hand, TÜBİTAK UME officials had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of Sudan Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), with which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2014, during their stay in Sudan. During the visit, a consensus was reached on the development of mutual cooperation and projects.
