TÜBİTAK UME, as a project partner of "pres2vac: Industrial standards in the intermediate pressure-to-vacuum range" project workshop was held on January 20, 2017.
Organized within the scope of the European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) and hosted by TÜBİTAK UME, the workshop was attended by 53 experts from domestic and foreign research and development institutions, calibration laboratories, device manufacturers and distributors, pharmaceuticals and defense industries.

Dr. Wladimir Sabuga from the German Metrology Institute (PTB) and Dr. Dominik Pražák from the Czech Republic Metrology Institute (CMI) also contributed to the workshop, where the general objectives of the project and the work carried out so far within the project were introduced and the impact of the project outputs in line with the needs of the industry was mutually discussed.

With this project, it is aimed to perform reliable, accurate and traceable to the international system of units (SI) high accuracy absolute pressure and negative-positive relative pressure measurements in the range of approximately 1 Pa to 104 Pa in a wide range from the pharmaceutical industry to clean room technologies, from hospitals to research laboratories, from power plants to the petrochemical industry and not limited to these, and to increase the efficiency of industrial production and processes.

The project, which is expected to have important outputs such as the development and characterization of basic and transfer pressure standards, the development of calibration methods of these standards and the provision of calibration services to the industry, and the creation of international guidance documents, is planned to repeat information sharing similar to the workshop in the future, considering that it will contribute to the development of the sectors.
