During the visit, which was also attended by Andy Henson, Director of the International Relations and Communications Department of BIPM, TÜBİTAK UME's contribution to the Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer (CBKT) program, which was initiated as a result of a decision taken at the General Conference on Measures and Weights in 2014 to support developing metrology institutes and to ensure a more balanced and effective functioning of the world metrology system, was discussed.
During the visit, within the framework of the program carried out with trainings and joint research projects organized by the BIPM organization, TÜBİTAK UME's offer to provide free training to the personnel of metrology institutes of developing countries for periods ranging from 1 to 3 months was evaluated.
The training program, which will be carried out jointly with BIPM if accepted, has an important prestige value in terms of TÜBİTAK UME's place in the metrology world.
During the visit, during which detailed information was given about TÜBİTAK UME's activities and international services, it was agreed to continue contacts to organize a joint training program with BIPM.
