Dr. V. GOROBEY, Head of the Pressure Standards Department of the Russian D.I. Mendeleyev Institute of Metrology (VNIIM) and Dr. A. CHERNYSHENKO, Head of the Vacuum Group, visited TÜBİTAK UME Vacuum Laboratory between 10-14 October 2016 for the first round of cooperation between the two institutes.

As the first step of the work initiated within the scope of the technical protocol prepared, the national standards of both countries in the field of Vacuum Metrology 1-10^-4 The first phase of the measurements that will enable them to compare in the pressure range of Pa - 1 Pa was carried out.

The second phase of the measurements, which is of great importance in terms of starting the metrology partnership of the two country institutes, is planned to be carried out at VNIIM in 2017.

In parallel with the recently developing cooperation between Turkey and Russia, this cooperation, which started in the field of Vacuum Metrology, is aimed to open the door to new projects that will enable mutual gains.

The scientific collaborations that will take place within the framework of the relations that will be formalized with the bilateral agreement planned to be signed between the two institutions in the near future are expected to continue not only in the field of Vacuum Metrology but also in other disciplines.
