"Color and Brightness Measurements Stakeholders Meeting" was organized by TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute Optical Laboratories at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.

The first of the stakeholder meetings in 2013, which was organized to bring together TÜBİTAK UME's stakeholders and to make scientific evaluations by meeting on a common platform, was held on January 11 with 72 participants who are experts in the field of optics.

In the meeting where the opening speech was made by Dr. Fatih ÜSTÜNER, Acting Director of TÜBİTAK UME Institute, an interactive discussion environment was created through mutual exchange of views after the presentations made on Introduction of Optical Laboratories, CIE Standard Color Measurements, Color Measurement of Non-Uniform Surfaces, On-Line Color, Reflectance and Transmittance Systems, Gloss Measurements, Method for Determining Color Parameters in Glasses, Color Difference Analysis, Uncertainty Analysis in Color Measurements.

During the meeting, measurement / calibration methods of color and gloss quantities, measurement uncertainties, related developments and problems were shared. It was stated by the participants that the laboratories that are accredited and want to be accredited need inter-laboratory comparison measurements in the fields of color and brightness and that there is no other institution that can do this. Stating that this regulation is a demand that can be met by UME, TÜBİTAK UME Optical Laboratories experts introduced the Color Measurement Device Project completed in 2011. In the meeting where the knowledge gained from this project was shared, it was emphasized that TÜBİTAK UME is open to projects that will meet the needs of the industry in the field of Color Measurement and Optical Measurements.
