Happy World Metrology Day

World Metrology Day is celebrated around the world every year with different themes and events, and this year's slogan is "Measurement for Global Trade". This theme was chosen to raise awareness about the important role that measurement plays in facilitating global trade, ensuring that products comply with standards and regulations, and meeting customer quality expectations.

Although this year's celebrations were overshadowed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this global pandemic has once again highlighted the importance of metrology in testing and measurements, drug and vaccine studies, and even preventive activities.

TÜBİTAK UME is also contributing to the global fight to prevent the pandemic with 5 different projects to prevent COVID-19.

- Development of an Optical and Electrochemical Biosensor for the Diagnosis of COVID-19 Disease

- Reducing the Spread of Viruses (COVID-19, SARS, MERS, etc.)

- 2019-production of RNA Reference Materials for the Measurement of CoV Virus

- Voltammetric Sensor & Device Production for COVID-19 Disease

- Development of Thermal and Optical Based Systems for the Detection of Pandemic Diseases

Aware that measurement will play a key role in the world's fight against the pandemic, we celebrate World Metrology Day with our belief in healthy days.
