TÜBİTAK UME is organizing an introductory seminar to inform about the changes in the definitions of kilogram, ampere, kelvin and mole units that will enter into force as of May 20, 2019.

The proposal, adopted at the 25th General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) in November 2014, amends the definitions of 4 of the 7 SI units and redefines the kilogram, ampere, kelvin and mole units in terms of the universal constants Planck's constant, elementary charge constant, Boltzmann's constant and Avogadro's constant respectively.

The bill, which was also approved at the 26th CGPM meeting in November 2018, enters into force on May 20, 2019.

TÜBİTAK UME invites all stakeholders to an introductory seminar about these changes on May 20, 2019, which is also World Metrology Day.
