Applications have started for the Metrology Master's Program, whose main principles and topics were created with the contributions of Gebze Technical University (GTU) Physics Department and TÜBİTAK UME, and opened in the Physics Department of the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences.
The program, which aims to train highly qualified expert researchers in the field of metrology and to conduct interdisciplinary research on measurement standardization, covers measurement techniques used in quantum metrology, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, renewable energy technologies, which are among the priority research topics of our country.
The new program aims to provide an interdisciplinary education based on basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology and engineering sciences such as photonics, electronics and materials sciences.
In the 2016 spring semester, the Master's Program, which will accept its first students, will offer a total of 14 courses, 8 of which will be offered in the first semester, the contents of which are prepared by GTU faculty members and TÜBİTAK UME researchers who are experts in their fields.
Within the scope of the program, TÜBİTAK UME researchers will be able to serve as co-thesis advisors for students and students will be able to benefit from TÜBİTAK UME laboratories.
The language of instruction of the program will be English, which will also ensure the participation of international students.
Applications for the program will be accepted until January 22, 2016 and the English exam will be held on January 25, 2016 and the interview will be held on January 27, 2016.
