Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Metrology Institute of the People's Republic of China (NIM)

TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Metrology Institute of the People's Republic of China (NIM) to develop scientific metrological cooperation.

On October 31 - November 01, 2017, Mustafa ÇETİNTAŞ, Director of the Institute, Süleyman Zühtü CAN, Deputy Director of the Institute, İsa ARAZ, Atomic Sensors Laboratory Supervisor, and Hüseyin ÇAYCI, Power and Energy Laboratory Supervisor, representing TÜBİTAK UME, signed the "Memorandum of Understanding" recorded during the visit to the Institute of Metrology of the People's Republic of China (NIM) with the participation of Mustafa ÇETİNTAŞ, Director of TÜBİTAK UME, and Fang XIANG, Director of NIM.

Before the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding", on-site inspections of NIM laboratories with two different campuses were carried out and mutual information was exchanged with NIM officials.

The agreement aims to establish long-term cooperation between the two countries' Metrology Institutes by realizing short and medium-term pilot scientific projects. In addition to Electrical Power and Energy Metrology, which was presented by UME as a short-term joint project proposal, short and medium-term cooperation is planned on topics such as Quantum Standards, Atomic Sensors, Time Distribution Systems and Certified Reference Materials.

On the other hand, with this agreement, the number of Memorandums of Understanding signed by TÜBİTAK UME with equivalent organizations abroad has increased to 36.
