Singaporean scientist and entrepreneur Prof. Lim Chwee Teck, who is world-renowned for his research in the field of biomedicine, was the guest of TÜBİTAK UME with a seminar on October 24, 2022.
The seminar titled "Micro- and Nanoscale Measurements in Biology and Medicine" held at TÜBİTAK UME Conference Hall, which was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hikmet ÜÇIŞIK, who contributed greatly to the realization of the seminar with his support, was attended by researchers from TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus as well as faculty members and students from Istanbul Technical University, Gebze Technical University, Acıbadem University and Sakarya University.
Prof. Lim Chwee Teck, who has achieved distinguished academic achievements especially in the fields of human disease mechanobiology and the development of innovative microfluidic wearable technologies and has received more than 100 research and honorary awards, shared his experiences with the researchers in the seminar, which attracted great interest.
Prof. Lim Chwee Teck paid a technical visit to TÜBİTAK UME laboratories after the seminar. In addition, information was given about the work carried out at TÜBİTAK UME and Istanbul Technical University in the field of biosensors in order to evaluate future cooperation opportunities.

Professor Chwee Teck (C.T.) LIM is Professor and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Institute for Health Innovation and Technology at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also a director of the Singapore Health Technology Consortium. His research interests are in the mechanobiology of human diseases as well as the development of innovative microfluidic and wearable technologies for biomedical applications. He is a prolific researcher who has co-authored more than 450 journal publications, including Nature and Science themed journals, and has delivered more than 420 plenary sessions/ keynote speeches/ guest lectures.
Mr. Prof. Chwee Teck LIM is also a serial entrepreneur who has founded six companies to commercialize technologies developed in his laboratory. Mr. Prof. Chwee Teck LIM is globally recognized for his distinguished academic achievements, as evidenced by scholarships from IUPESM, the US National Academy of Inventors, AIMBE, IAMBE, ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology, Academy of Engineering, Singapore and the National Academy of Singapore.
Mr. Prof. Chwee Teck LIM and his team have received more than 100 research awards and honors, including Highly Cited Researcher, IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award, Asian Scientists 100, Credit Suisse Technopreneur of the Year Award, Wall Street Journal Asia Innovation Award (Gold) and President's Technology Award.
