On May 10, 2024, TÜBİTAK UME hosted a delegation of 13 people from Uzbekistan headed by Akmal JUMANAZAROV, General Director of Uzbekistan Technical Regulatory Authority.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Justice, the National Metrology Institute of Uzbekistan (UzNIM), the Standards Institute of Uzbekistan, the Accreditation Center of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek-Turkish Test Center Joint Venture.
During the visit, various mechanisms for the development of the ongoing cooperation between Uzbekistan Metrology Institute (UzNIM) and TÜBİTAK UME were emphasized. The support that TÜBİTAK UME, which has previously established a Time and Frequency Laboratory in Uzbekistan, can provide for the establishment of new laboratories to increase UzNIM's integration into the international metrology system and to develop its infrastructure was evaluated.
A verbal agreement was reached on the development of joint projects between UzNIM and TÜBİTAK UME and the improvement of the technical equipment of UzNIM researchers by receiving training at TÜBİTAK UME.
