TÜBİTAK UME has been actively involved in 2 of the 11 important EMPIR projects that have started and will start this year.
The first of these projects, "Traceability for contact and needle-tipped probes used in form and roughness measuring instruments" (ProbeTrace), will start in September 2019 and be completed in August 2022.
The project, which also includes metrology institutes in Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Serbia, Poland, Croatia, Portugal, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, will be led by TÜBİTAK UME on behalf of Turkey.
The second project "Development of traceable measurement capabilities for monitoring thermocouple performance" (MetForTC), which started in June 2019 and is planned to be completed within 3 years, will be carried out by the metrology institutes of Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Norway, Moldova and Montenegro under the leadership and execution of TÜBİTAK UME.
In these two projects, which aim to make more precise measurements in Dimensional and Temperature metrology, Turkey's undertaking the executive role is of great importance in terms of the point our country has reached in the world of Metrology.
Seven of the 11 projects (3 in Health, 1 in Normative, 2 in Research Potential, 4 in SI Units, 1 in Research Network) funded by the European Commission under the European Metrology Program for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) 2018 calls have started to be implemented. The execution of the other 4 projects will start within the year.
These 11 projects, in which TÜBİTAK UME participated as a partner, have a total budget share of 910,980 Euros.
