The workshop hosted by TÜBİTAK UME was attended by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA), representatives of GSM Operators, academics from various universities and experts from measurement laboratories.
At the workshop, the most modern electromagnetic pollution measurement system and methods established at TÜBİTAK UME, together with the studies carried out within the scope of the "Frequency Selective Electromagnetic Pollution Measurement System" project initiated by TÜBİTAK UME Electromagnetics Laboratory in 2017, and the knowledge and experience gained were presented to stakeholders. In addition, Prof. Dr. Osman Çerezci, Dean of Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, contributed to the workshop with his presentation titled "Measurements of Unaware Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields".
During the workshop, the shortcomings of Turkey's regulation to regulate electromagnetic pollution and set limit values were clearly highlighted and a serious awareness was raised about the need for a new regulation that includes modern measurement methods targeting maximum traffic emissions.
At the end of the workshop, the participants were informed that TÜBİTAK UME is ready to contribute to the preparation of the new regulation and to take part in the preparation of a regulation that includes the most modern "Frequency Selective Measurement" and "Code Selective Measurement" technical measurement methods and details, if deemed appropriate and assigned by ICTA.
