We lost Orhan SAKARYA

Orhan Sakarya, in charge of TÜBİTAK UME Volume, Density and Viscosity Laboratory, passed away on December 24, 2017. Sakarya was buried in Karacaahmet Cemetery after the noon prayer at Üsküdar Şakirin Mosque on December 25, 2017.

After graduating from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics in 1992 and completing his master's degree in Kocaeli University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics, Sakarya worked as a researcher at TÜBİTAK UME Mass Laboratories between 1995-2013. After working as a researcher at TÜBİTAK UME Gas Metrology Laboratories for about 1 year since 2013, Orhan Sakarya has been working as the Head of TÜBİTAK UME Volume, Density and Viscosity Laboratory since 2014.

We are deeply saddened by the untimely loss of our dear colleague Orhan Sakarya, who devoted 22 years of his life to TÜBİTAK UME and made significant contributions to the development of metrology in Turkey throughout his professional life.

We wish him God's mercy and condolences to his family, our organization and his loved ones.
