The fair, which was held in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, was opened by the Assistant to the Turkish Minister of Economy Fatih Metin and Sudanese Minister of Trade Al-Sadiq Mohammed Ali. The purpose of the fair was to strengthen the economic and trade ties between Turkey and Sudan.
TÜBİTAK UME took advantage of the opportunity presented by the four day long trade fair to build new contacts with the aim of increasing its cooperation in metrology in the region, sharing information with many visitors from Sudan and other countries in the region on its capabilities and services.
The delegation of TÜBİTAK UME also visited the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) with which an MoU was signed in 2014. New development projects and other forms of cooperation were discussed during the visit.
