TÜBİTAK UME delegation participated in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT), which was held on November 3, 2023, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, with the theme of "TURKISH ERA". President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev, Kyrgyzstan President Sadır Caparov, Uzbekistan President Şevket Mirziyoyev and TDT General Secretary Kubanychbek Omuraliev attended the meeting chaired by Kazakhstan President Kasım Cömert Tokayev. Head of Public Affairs of Turkmenistan Kurbankulu Berdimuhamedov and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also attended the summit as observer members of the organization.
At the meeting, the "Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Metrology Between the Relevant Institutions of the Member States of the Organization of Turkish States", which aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the metrological infrastructure in line with the global objectives of TDT, was signed. With the protocol signed between the Metrology Organizations of the Member States, it is planned for the Turkish World to be much more active and productive in the international world of metrology with planned studies such as the joint use of new metrological infrastructures, the creation of an R&D Project program where strategic needs are at the forefront, and the metrological requirements of Halal Products. In addition, the "Joint Action Plan for the Implementation of the Organization of Turkish States Transport Connection Program between 2023-2027" was signed and recorded between the ministers and heads of institutions of the member states during the summit.
