The Director of the National Institute of Health of Thailand, Dr. Somchai Sangkitporn and the Director of the Bureau of Cosmetics and Hazardous Substances, Bumroong Kongdee, visited TÜBİTAK UME on August 26.
Subjects discussed during the visit included the LC-MS/MS based newborn screening kit and measurement system developed by TÜBİTAK UME and Zivak Teknoloji in the years 2005-2007 and the possibility of utilizing a system similar to that of the National Marker Mobile Reference Device to conduct quick on-site measurements for the purpose of newborn screening tests.
TÜBİTAK UME Assistant Director (Technical) Dr. Ahmet Ceyhan Gören gave the Thai Delegation a presentation on metrology applications in biochemical measurements as well as information on studies conducted by TÜBİTAK UME in area of medical metrology.
Also discussed during the meeting were issues concerning methods and certified reference materials needed for accurate and reliable measurements on biochemical fluids, cosmetics and hazardous substances, and certified reference materials production and organization of proficiency tests by TÜBİTAK UME.
