The head of the Pressure Standards Division of the D.I. Mendeleyev All-Russian Institute or Metrology, Dr. V. GOROBEY and head of the Vacuum Group, Dr. A. CHERNYSHENKO visited TÜBİTAK UME’s Vacuum Laboratory between October 10 and 14, 2016, in order to begin work on cooperative project.
In the first stage of work within the scope of a technical protocol between the two laboratories, measurements were performed within the pressure range of 1·10-4 Pa to 1 Pa as part of a comparison of national standards in the field of vacuum metrology. The scond stage of the measurements are expected to take place at VNIIM in 2017.
In parallel to recent efforts to enhance cooperation between Turkey and Russia, it is hoped that this cooperation in the area of vacuum metrology will open to door to the development of further mutually beneficial projects. TÜBİTAK UME and VNIIM aim to formalize cooperative relations with a bilateral agreement in the near future, which is expected to lead to cooperative projects in other fields of metrology.
