TÜBİTAK UME signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the The Gambia Standards Bureau for the purpose of establishing cooperation.
The MoU was signed by the General Director of TGSB, Mr. Papa Secka and TÜBİTAK UME Acting Director, Dr. Mustafa Çetintaş on August 25, 2015.
The MoU was signed during the visit of Mr. Secka and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, Ms. Naffie Barry, to TÜBİTAK UME and defines the framework for cooperative activities with an aim towards enhancing the technical capacity of TGSB
The MoU forsees cooperation on the following activities:
- Technical assistance and consulting
- Technical training of personnel
- Transfer of technical knowledge, reference data and materials, and publications
- Jointly organized seminars, workshops and training programmes
In September 2015, TÜBİTAK UME will be providing expertise to TGSB within a project supported by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) to determine the infractructural and technical training needs of TGSB.
With the MoU signed with TGSB, TÜBİTAK UME has increased the number of bilateral agreements it has signed with its counterparts in other countries to 28.
