TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, General Directorate of Metrology and Standardization of Turkey signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBiH) for the purpose of initiating cooperation between the three institutions in scientific and legal metrology.
The MoU was signed by the Director of IMBiH, Mr. Zijad Džemić; the Director of TÜBİTAK UME, Dr. Mustafa Çetintaş and the General Director of Metrology and Standardization at the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Prof. Dr. Necip Camuşcu in Sarajevo on October 10, 2017 during a visit made by Dr. Çetintaş and Prof. Çamuşcu to IMBiH.
The MoU forsees cooperation on establishing and developing legal metrology services in Turkey in the areas of agriculture, environment and medical devices in line with evolving EU legislation and practices in those areas. Agreement was also reached on cooperating in joint research projects funded within the EC supported European Metrology Programme for Research and Innovation (EMPIR).
TÜBİTAK UME has now signed a total of 34 MoUs to further its network of international cooperation.
