TÜBİTAK UME’s metrology training programme for the personnel of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) is in progress.
An UNIDO project with the title of “Strenghtening the National Quality Infrastructure to Facilitate Trade and Enhance Consumer Protection”, initiated in 2012, aims to increase the capacity of Iraq’s national metrology institute, the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC). TÜBİTAK UME has assumed a role in the project with the signing of two contracts with UNIDO in March 2016 to provide extensive calibration and training services to COSQC.
The training programme initiated within the scope of the contract began in May 2016 with training sessions in dimensional metrology and temperature.
The training programme aiming to enhance the technical knowledge and skills of COSQC personnel will continue until August 31 with training in the fields of force, hardness, mass, humidity, volume and density, high voltage, voltage and pressure. A total of 46 personnel will benefit from the training programme.
