A delegation from the Qatar Armed Forces Calibration Center visited TÜBİTAK UME on April 22-25, 2019, to discuss cooperation on meeting their calibration and training needs and to obtain information on with TÜBİTAK UME's facilities and capabilities.
Attending the visit were the Commander of the Qatar Armed Forces Calibration Center Lieutenant General Nasser Bakhit Al-Jattar and Coordination Officer First Lieutenant Yousef Nasser Alabdullah Jabbar. Detailed discussions focused on offers to be prepared for the calibration of existing equipment of the Qatar Armed Forces Calibration Center and for the training of their technical staff in the areas of voltage, high voltage, impedance, RF and microwave, electromagnetics, magnetics, and power and energy.
Additionally, it was agreed that TÜBİTAK UME would prepare proposals for the turn-key establishment of new laboratories in the areas of high and low pressure flow measurements, electromagnetic compatibility, optics, and mass density. Further discussions focused on the possibility of long-term technical training for the staff of Qatar Armed Forces Calibration Center at TÜBİTAK UME and their registration in the metrology master’s degree programme at Gebze Technical University.
