The agreement for the development and realization of Time and Frequency Measurement Systems was signed between TÜBİTAK UME and Uzbekistan National Institute of Metrology (UzNIM).
The scope of the agreement includes supply, development and installation of time and frequency systems, training of UzNIM employees at TUBITAK UME and UzNIM and organization of bilateral comparisons.
Pursuant to agreement, Uzbekistan National Time Scale (UTC(Uz)) will be generated with the technical infrastructure of TÜBİTAK UME and its traceability will be provided via BIPM. The time difference between Turkey and Uzbekistan scales will also be compared with the GNSS Common View Method.
Frequency generation up to 20 GHz and frequency measurement infrastructure up to 15 GHz of the laboratory will be completed by TÜBİTAK UME. Traceable UTC (Uz) time scale will be distributed to the country via the internet. In addition, necessary support will be provided within the scope of time and frequency activities for the generation of CMC entries and for their further publication on the BIPM database.
The agreement, which will give a new impetus to the bilateral cooperation between the two metrology institutes, will also be a milestone in terms of increasing the scientific and technical development of the Uzbekistan Metrology Institute and its integration into the international metrology system.
