TÜBİTAK UME hosted a 13-member delegation from Uzbekistan on May 10, 2024; led by Akmal JUMANAZAROV, the General Director of the Uzbekistan Technical Regulation Agency.
Representatives of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Justice, the Uzbekistan National Metrology Institute (UzNIM), the Uzbekistan Institute of Standards, the Uzbekistan Accreditation Center, and the Uzbek-Turkish Test Center Joint Venture participated in the meeting.
During the visit, various mechanisms were focused on to enhance the existing cooperation between UzNIM and TÜBİTAK UME. The support that TÜBİTAK UME, which previously established the Time and Frequency Laboratory in Uzbekistan, could provide by establishing new laboratories in UzNIM to improve its infrastructure and to further integrate UzNIM into the international metrology system was evaluated.
There has been a consensus on developing joint projects between UzNIM and TÜBİTAK UME, as well as providing opportunities for training of UzNIM researchers at TÜBİTAK UME to improve their technical skills.
