TÜBİTAK UME has been accepted as a member of the Consultative Committee for Time and Frequency (CCTF), which operates under the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM).
TÜBİTAK is currently a member of the Consultative Committees of Acoustics, Ultrasound and Vibration (CCAUV), Electricity and Magnetism (CCEM), Length (CCL), Photometry and Radiometry (CCPR), Amount of Substance (CCQM) and Thermometry (CCT). With the membership of CCTF, TÜBİTAK UME is now represented in 7 of the 9 Consultative Committees.
The acceptance of TUBITAK UME as a member of the CCTF, which has 30 other member institutions, recognizes that it can be counted among the leading institutions in the world with its measurement capabilities and research/development experience in the field of Time and Frequency.
Being a member of CCTF is of great importance in terms of being able to keep pace with developments in this area, engage in information exchange with other leading institutions and take part in decisions that will affect the future direction of Time and Frequency metrology.
The CIPM Consulting Committees aim to contribute to the global harmonization of measurements by providing expertise in technical issues of metrology, serving as a platform for international information exchange and technical cooperation in metrology and promoting the traceability of national measurement standards to the SI.
Membership in Consultative Committees is open to the internationally renowned metrology institutes and laboratories, which have a demonstrated a high level of competence in the committees’ areas of focus through participation in international interlaboratory measurement comparisons and scientific research.
TUBITAK UME is one of the leading metrology institutes in the world in terms of its memberships in Consultative Committees of the CIPM.
