Planned Developments

  • Research in the Quantum Hall Effect field for the resistance (ohm) standard
  • Josephson effect for voltage (volt) standard and investigation of superconducting single-electron devices
  • Investigation of semiconductor and superconductor single electron pumps for current (ampere) standard.
  • Nitrogen Vacancy Center (NV Center) production and characterization
  • Single-photon-source production and characterization by local ion implantation

Projects

  • European Union project, "EMN-Q: European Metrology Network on Quantum Technologies ", 2019-2024
  • European Union project, “EMPIR 16RPT03 inTENSE Developing Research Capabilities for Traceable Intraocular Pressure Measurements”, 2017-2020
  • European Union project, "COMET: Two dimensional lattices of covalent- and metal-organic frameworks for the Quantum Hall resistance standards ", 2021-2024

Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the laboratory can be divided into three categories:

- Thin film and epitaxial growth

- Fabrication and lithographic patterning

- Electrical characterization

Quantum Metrology

Quantum Metrology Laboratory was established within the scope of TÜBİTAK UME Research Infrastructure Renewal and Development Project, which started in 2017, and accelerated its activities by taking its place in the TÜBİTAK UME organization chart in 2018.
