Alper İŞLEYEN (Head of Laboratory)
Alper İşleyen graduated in 1998 from the Middle East Technical University (METU), Arts & Sciences Faculty, Department of Chemistry (Ankara, Turkey). In the same year, he started his M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies in the field of synthetic organic chemistry and completed in 2007. In between 1998 and 2005, he worked as a teaching and research assistant in METU, Arts &Sciences Faculty, Department of Chemistry and as a postdoctoral research associate in 2008 at the Washington State University, Department of Chemistry (Pullman, USA). In 2009, he completed his military service duty as a chemical analysis specialist in Turkish Armed Forces Food Quality Control Laboratory (İstanbul, Turkey). In 2010, he started working as a senior research scientist in the TÜBİTAK UME Chemistry Group Laboratories. In 2012, at the EC JRC IRMM (Geel, Belgium), he was trained and conducted studies on reference material (RM) production and certification. He contributed to the establishment of the Reference Materials Laboratory, integration of the quality management system and accreditation according to ISO Guide 34 which later transformed into ISO 17034-“General Requirements for the competence of RM Producers”. He has been working as the Head of Reference Materials Laboratory since 2013. He has been involved in several RM projects and coordinated an EMPIR project (EU-H2020) in 2015-2018 which yielded 3 CRMs for environmental analysis in collaboration with 9 partners from 8 European countries.
Dr. İşleyen has been given trainings for Reference Material production according to relevant ISO standard and guidelines at national (organized by Turkish Accreditation Agency-TURKAK) and international (organized by Bureau International des Poids et Mesures-BIPM) workshops and training services (organized by TÜBİTAK UME).
He is representing Turkey at Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrology Institutions (COOMET) Reference Materials technical commiitee and Regional Metrology Organization- GULFMET Chemistry technical commiitee. He also works for TURKAK food sector commiitee and as a technical expert for reference materials.
Dr. İşleyen’s 6 original research articles and 1 review article have been published in the international journals. He is also the coauthor of 7 CRM certification reports.
Fatma AKÇADAĞ
Fatma Akçadağ graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Ankara University in 1988. She received a M.Sc. degree in 1992 and a PhD degree in 1997 from the same university and department. She worked as a research assistant between 1989 and 1997 in the Department of Chemistry of Ankara University and as an R&D Engineer between 1997 and 1998 at Super Film Industry and Trade Inc. She has been working at TÜBİTAK UME as a senior researcher since 1998.
Hatice ALTUNTAŞ
Hatice Altuntaş graduated from Mersin University, Vocational College, Department of Chemistry in 2002. She worked at Duratek Company as a quality controller between 2002 and 2003. In 2003, she had training on plastics, pigments, masterbatches and plastic additives at the Tosaf Plastic Company in Israel. Then, she worked at the Tosaf Plastic Company (Turkey) R&D Department as a color expert between 2003 and 2006. She started working at TÜBİTAK UME in May 2006 as a technician in the National Marker Project. Since 2006, she has been working at the TÜBİTAK UME Chemistry Group Laboratories as an expert technician.
